Whether you have a new garden or a mature established one, it can always use a little 'fine tuning'!  Attend this lecture to learn more about extending your garden show by adding plants at the beginning and the end of the season. The lecture will include tips on planning so a garden has something blooming and attractive all season long. Dolly will introduce us to the best long blooming perennials and new fabulous plants for this year.

DAHLIAS, DAHLIAS, DAHLIAS May 8th, 2013 6:45pm
Guest Speaker: Mike and Carol Cichorski
Mike is the Vice-President of Central States Dahlia Society.  He is as passionate about dahlias as Carol is about the rest of her garden. Mike 'found' dahlias 14 years ago and their lives have not been the same since.  Mike plants tubers in their basement in February and grows several hundred plants for this year and garden club sales. They'd love to let you know how you can grow dahlias too. You will have an opportunity to purchase dahlias at this presentation.

Some of the plants we love can't live together--somebody dies! This presentation will give you tips for successfully combining plants and some 'arranged marriages' of plants for different sites that really will work out in the end.

HOUSEPLANTS: OUR FRIENDS July 10th 2013 7:00pm
Guest Speaker: Ken Benson
We can brighten our homes with some tried and true House Plants. We will explore their needs, best locations, disease, insects and cultures in our homes in this informative and interactive presentation.

MINIATURES--FROM FAIRY TO
RAILROAD GARDENS   August 14th, 2013 7:00pm
Guest Speaker:  Barbara Collins
Whether it's the latest journey down the fairy garden path or the pocket of miniatures in a hidden garden, we all love the idea of using smaller plants. The recent explosion of miniature railroad gardens is also highlighted. Those of you who have a limited amount of space to garden, will learn how to tuck those plants into scarce spots. Join Barb as she presents tried and true, as well as interesting ideas and ornamental plants suitable for all such sites.
